Today, April 25th, a national holiday, the Port of Funchal welcomes the calls of four cruise ships, namely: ‘Nieuw Statendam,Norwegian Star‘, ‘National Geographic Endurancethis last one a debut in the Region, and, finally, the ‘Star Pride‘ which has just dock at the north terminal.

In total, the Port of Funchal handles a total of 7,414 people this holiday, of which 5,150 are passengers.

“The Nieuw Statendam was the first to arrive at the Port of Funchal today, with 2574 passengers and 958 crew.

He came from Rotterdam, spent 10 hours in Madeira and left at 6pm, heading to Tenerife, the next stop on the 28-night itinerary that began in Fort Lauderdale, on April 7th, with stops in Bermuda, Brest, Guernsey, Le Havre , Dover, Rotterdam, now in Funchal, followed by Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Gibraltar, A Coruña and Rotterdam, where this cruise ends on May 5th.

The ship will now position itself in Europe, with cruises departing from Copenhagen and Reykjavik.

The Norwegian Star, which arrived mid-morning from Las Palmas, is traveling with 2248 passengers and 1004 crew.

It also stays 10 hours in Madeira and leaves at 8pm for Lisbon.

The ship is on a 17-night cruise that began in Rio de Janeiro on April 10, with calls in Búzios, Salvador da Baía, Maceió, Recife, all in Brazil, followed by Praia and Mindelo, in Cape Verde, Tenerife , Gran Canaria, now Funchal, and then Lisbon, the end of this trip, on April 27th.

It will be positioned in the coming months, in northern Europe and returns to the Port of Funchal, next November.

National Geographic Endurance is making a 26-hour stopover in Madeira. It travels with 51 passengers and 103 crew. He was in South America, Ushuaia, Salvador da Baía, Fortaleza, Praia, Mindelo, San Filipe, Porto Novo, Las Palmas, Tenerife, La Palma now, in Funchal, followed by Vila do Porto, in the Azores.

Star Pride comes from Tenerife, overnight in Funchal and is scheduled to leave tomorrow, at 1pm, heading to Lisbon.

On board, it has 277 passengers and 199 crew.

The ship is on an 8-night cruise around the Atlantic islands of Madeira and the Canary Islands, which ends on April 28, in Lisbon.

It will be positioned in Europe, especially in the north, and in September it will return to Canada and the USA, as well as the Caribbean, Antilles and Panama.

In April of next year, it will return to the CAI line, Cruise Atlantic Islands, before repositioning itself in northern Europe”, says APRAM.
