The Portuguese can expect a reduction of two cents per liter in gasoline and diesel prices from next Monday, April 29, a reversal after mixed variations at the beginning of the week.

Sources from the fuel sector confirmed to ECO that from Monday, the prices of simple 95 gasoline and diesel, the most consumed fuel in Portugal, will decrease by two cents. This change follows a week in which prices showed divergent movements.

Currently, according to data released by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average price of simple diesel is set at 1.606 euros per liter, while simple 95 gasoline costs 1.822 euros per liter. With the application of this reduction, the new prices will be approximately 1,586 euros for diesel and 1,802 euros for gasoline.

This price adjustment reflects both discounts offered by oil companies and the continuation of temporary fiscal measures implemented by the government to alleviate the impact of rising fuel costs on consumers. The measures in force provide for a reduction of 25 cents per liter for diesel and 26 cents for gasoline.
