Police investigate death of 23-year-old man after leaving gay sauna in SP

The Civil Police are investigating the death of publicist Yuri Castro, aged 23, after leaving a gay sauna in Largo do Arouche, in São Paulo. He had been missing since Monday the 22nd.

According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) informed the Earth, the young man was admitted to the Vergueiro Emergency Care Unit (UPA) after being taken by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). He would have been rescued on Rua General Osório, in the Santa Ifigênia region.

Expert examinations were requested and are being prepared. “As soon as they are finalized, they will be analyzed by the police authority. The Civil Police is available to family members and acquaintances to register new cases of disappearance, so that the facts can be properly investigated”, highlighted the SSP.

Yuri was at the Hotel Chilli gay sauna and arrived there on the night of Sunday, 21st. He would have left the establishment at around 4:25 am on Monday, when he was last seen. In a statement published on social media, the hotel stated that it was investigating all events that occurred within its facilities and declared that it had no information on the advertiser’s whereabouts after he left the premises.

According to the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, the possible cause of death is indicated as insufficient oxygen in the blood (hypoxemia) and excessive loss of blood or fluids (hypovolemic shock). Friends of the publicist, who preferred not to be identified, told the newspaper that he was attacked after leaving the sauna, but there is no confirmation that this happened, as the case remains under investigation.

The Civil Police highlights that any information that could assist police work can be passed on to Hotline (181) or directly to the police unit. The case is investigated by the 3rd Police District (Campos Elíseos).
