PM captain is investigated for involvement in the murder of a couple in a land dispute in RR | Roraima

Military Police Captain Helton John Silva de Souza, aged 48, is one of those being investigated for involvement in the murder of farming couple Flávia Guilarducci, aged 50, and Jânio Bonfim de Souza, aged 57, on April 23, in interior of Roraima. Two suspects involved in the crime are arrested.

On the day of the crime, the captain served as coordinator of the state governor’s security teamaccording to an investigation by the Civil Police that Amazon Network had access. But, six days after the attack on the couple, was removed and placed at the disposal of the Military Police.

When contacted by g1, the government said that the Military House “upon being informed about the investigative process regarding the aforementioned soldier, took immediate action to remove him and exonerate him from the functions he performed with the security team.”

The captain was also contacted about the matter, but did not respond until the last update of the report.

The Military Police, in turn, said that it has not yet been officially informed about the investigation, but that the General Inspectorate “will continue to monitor the case and will take all measures to ensure that the matter is clarified and that all necessary legal actions are taken in conjunction with the judicial authorities.”

In investigating the double homicide, case investigators identified that Captain Helton was with the suspects on the day the couple was murdered on the property where they lived.

The police believe that the crime was motivated by a land dispute involving rural producer Caio de Medeiros Porto, a close friend of Helton, who is also being investigated. g1 tries to contact Caio.

The suspicion that Helton was with Caio on the day of the shooting arose from a recording that recorded the attack on the couple. One of the voices captured, according to the investigation, was his.

The investigation material that suspects the PM captain’s involvement was prepared at the request of the case’s delegate, João Luiz Evangelista Batista dos Santos, head of the General Homicide Police Station, where the crime is investigated.

Two suspects, Genivaldo Lopes Viana, aged 53, and Luiz Lucas Raposo da Silva, aged 35, were arrested on suspicion of murdering the couple.

The attack took place in the Surrão neighborhood, on the couple’s property. Jânio was hit in the abdomen and died a day after the crime, on Wednesday (24). His wife, shot in the head and mouth, died five days later, on Sunday (28), at the Roraima General Hospital (HGR), where she was admitted in serious condition in the ICU.
