Alex Ferreira is one of the competitors in the new edition of “Big Brother”, on TVI.
During a dynamic on Monday afternoon (25), the competitor said that, during his adolescence, he did “a pioneering treatment for a facial tumor”.
The young man was 14 years old “When, playing ball, for the first time, when I hit a header, I got a facial spasm. Facial spasm is nothing more or less than having your face turned to one side, as if you were having a stroke. It was temporary, it went back to normal and, at the time, I didn’t care much”.
“That started to be recurring, with temperature differences and everything. We spent a year trying to understand what it was. The MRIs didn’t say anything. For my parents, it was very boring. For me, it was a very delicate time, because I started to lose a lot of weight.”, he added.
Alex Ferreira was diagnosed with a tumor on the right facial nerve and considered having an operation, “opening his whole face to do the treatment, but it was very risky”. Therefore, he was subjected to a “treatment with radiosurgery, i.e. radiotherapy with two hours of treatment”.
“Recovery was based on a lot of medication. I took 15 or 20 pills for this”, he stated. See here the video.
