O The reason why the characters in the series ‘The Simpsons’ are yellow was the subject of conversation in an interview in 2007 and, now, 17 years later, it is back on the table.

According to international publications, the interview in which Matt Groening talks about this has been the subject of conversation on the social network X (formerly Twitter), at a time when the press has also returned to the explanation.

The creators were, according to what the screenwriter explains, focused to create something different from what was already on television, wanting to differentiate itself – and that’s when the idea of the characters being yellow came about. “When you’re changing the channel with the remote and yellow lights pass by you, you know you’re watching the Simpsons,” explained the creator.

“An animator came up with the yellow Simpsons and as soon as he showed them to me I replied: ‘That’s the answer'”he explained.

The subject, which has been discussed on social media, also draws users’ attention to the fact that the characters only have four fingers – yet another distinctive element.
