In the images, published on the Palestinian group’s Telegram channel, the hostage appears alone, sitting on a plastic chair, in front of a white wall.

“This moving video is an urgent call for us to take swift and meaningful action to resolve this terrible humanitarian crisis and ensure the safe return of our families,” the Hostage Families Forum association wrote in a statement.

According to the France-Presse agency (AFP), it was not possible to determine when the video was recorded, but the hostage, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, aged 23, states that he has been imprisoned “for almost 200 days”. Today marks 201 days since the attack and hostage taking.

In the video, the young man who was kidnapped during a music festival accuses Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government of having “abandoned” thousands of Israelis on October 7 and also of having “abandoned” the hostages since then.

He states that they are being held “underground”, without water, food or medical care, says that he was seriously injured on the day of the attack and shows his amputated left forearm just below the elbow.

Other hostages have witnessed similar detention conditions in previously released videos and have questioned Israeli authorities.

The unprecedented attack carried out by Hamas, on October 7, in Israeli territory, resulted in the deaths of 1,170 people, according to an AFP report drawn up based on official Israeli data.

Around 250 people were also kidnapped and taken to Gaza, where 129 still remain, according to Israel, including 34 already considered dead by the army.

The vast retaliatory military operation carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip has already caused 34,262 deaths, mainly civilians, according to Hamas.
