Brasilia DF) – To celebrate the achievements of more than 25 thousand Brazilian men and women who fought in the Second World War, the Army launches the “80 Years of the FEB” Photo and Video Contest. The Competition aims to publicize the importance and achievements of the Army in the context of the FEB in the Second World War, remember the historical achievements of the FEB and reward the best works related to the theme in two distinct categories: photography and video.
In 2024 and 2025, the Brazilian Army celebrates 80 years of participation of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) in the Second World War. During the campaign in Italy, the soldiers left their names marked in the history of that country and Brazil.
FEB is an example of the high degree of professionalism, commitment, selflessness and courage of Brazilian Army soldiers. The fight against Nazi-fascism and the actions of the FEB are still remembered today not only in Brazil, but also in Italy. Brazil, the United States and Canada were the only countries in the Americas to send troops to the European Theater of Operations.
The works presented must address the FEB, its history, deeds, passages, characters, war heroes, military values and operational or support activities, all in the context of the Second World War. The competition is open to anyone interested in photography and video, whether amateurs or professionals.
Registrations
Registration and sending of photographs and/or videos will take place from April 1st until 11:59pm on May 11th, 2024 via email: [email protected]. Participation details can be found in the competition notice.
Awards
The first placed in each category will receive a prize. 1st place will receive R$ 1,500.00; 2nd place will receive R$1,000.00 and 3rd place will receive R$500.00. All three placed in each category will receive certificates of winners of the “80 Years of FEB” Photo and Video Contest and all registrants will receive a certificate of participation.
