The example of a Renault 5 Turbo car with Portuguese registration is being widely praised on social media, due to its apparently immaculate condition and because, after all, it is still a rare car on the market.
The car was parked and was photographed by Fábio Gomes, in an undisclosed location, behind a truck from a transport company in Pombal. and shared in social media groups that specialize in photographs of rare cars detected on the roads of our country.
The Renault 5 Turbo has three doors and is 1.77 meters long and 1.34 meters high, with the engine placed at the back, in a central position, occupying the space where the rear seat would supposedly be.
The first example of this model was presented in 1980, at the Brussels Motor Show, with the main focus on rally competitions, but also for driving on the road, reaching incredible speeds.
Basically, the French car manufacturer adapted the previous model of the Renault 5, which was quite popular for urban driving at the time, and added the technology of a central engine with a turbo, something pioneering at the time.
The model was only produced for six years and had a total of 4,987 units manufactured, divided between the R5 Turbo and the R5 Turbo 2.
