Elon Musk and Tesla want the robot to cost little

-

Elon Musk and Tesla are betting on areas that go far beyond electric cars. They want to create tools and supports for their cars and their users and the maximum exponent seems to be the Optimus Gen 2 for now. This robot has now had a new addition and Elon Musk revealed how much it should cost: “less than half of a car ”.

It was a few months ago that Tesla revealed the Optimus Gen 2, a new generation of its humanoid robot. This should be a radical change in this universe and the brand and Elon Musk hope that it will be able to take on many repetitive tasks that humans currently perform.

With the new model, the change compared to the past is very big and it is already very close to what the final model should be. This should first take a place on Tesla's production lines and then, slowly, take on a more present place in everyday life.

Now, it was Elon Musk himself who revealed important information about the Optimus Gen 2. We talk about the cost that this robot could incur in the future, which many estimate will be extremely expensive and practically inaccessible to the general public.

Although he did not reveal its final price, Elon Musk ended up revealing that it should cost “less than half of a car”. This is proof that the Tesla strongman hopes that it will have a price that will be accessible to many, which will be important for its mass expansion.

Assuming that the average selling price of a Tesla car globally last year was just over $45,000, it will be simple to calculate the final value. This should be between 20 and 25 thousand dollars.

There is still no clear timeline for Tesla to put its robot into production, but some clues have been given. Elon Musk said in 2022 that the Optimus Gen 2 could go into production as early as 2023, although this did not happen.
