Etihad Airways informs that last Monday, April 22nd, marked the beginning of the use of its large double-decker aircraft, the A380, on flight EY1, from Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, to New York, in the United States. United States, via John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Until now using Boeing 787 planes, one of the company’s most popular routes now has the option of the legendary and sumptuous three-room suite in the sky, The Residence:

After a celebratory farewell in Abu Dhabi and a flight lasting around 14 hours, Etihad pilots waved the US and UAE flags in the cockpit as the super-jumbo arrived at the apron in New York.

Brazilian Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said:

One of Etihad’s two daily flights to New York will be served by the A380, while the other will be operated by a 787-9, offering First, Business and Economy cabins.

In Economy Class on Etihad’s A380, the cabin features 68 seats with extra legroom and an additional 10 cm of lateral space, as well as 337 Economy Smart seats with Etihad’s signature fixed-wing headrests and large pillows for added comfort.

On the upper floor, the Business Studios provide 70 private spaces, ensuring a peaceful trip. The upper deck also houses The Lobby, a serviced lounge and bar area between the First and Business cabins.

First Apartments take luxury to new heights with 9 private spaces, featuring spacious leather armchairs and a separate ottoman that converts into a flat bed. Travelers have access to the exclusive first-class bathroom.

Finally, The Residence, the only three-room suite in the sky in the world, accommodating up to two people, has a private living room, bedroom and private bathroom complete with shower, as seen in the video available at the beginning of this article.
