Taxpayers have already submitted almost three million IRS declarations, according to information available on the Finance Portal, and around 75% correspond to people with income exclusively from dependent employment and pensions.

According to the same information, until the beginning of this Friday, April 26, 2,204,579 declarations relating to income from dependent employment and pensions and 709,787 from taxpayers with other types of income were submitted, for a total of 2,914,366 statements.

Regarding settlements, in response to questions from Lusa about possible difficulties and delays in this procedure mentioned by some inspectors, an official source from the Ministry of Finance indicated that no problem had been identified.

“Not only was no problem identified in the validation processing of IRS model 3 declarations, but, in fact, by the end of April 22nd there was an increase of more than 440 thousand validated declarations compared to the same period last year” , highlighted the same official source.

Thus, he added, on that date 1,926,176 declarations had been validated, compared to 1,484,318 in the same period of 2023.

The Ministry of Finance also indicates that “declarations are subject to complex procedures to validate the information contained therein, these procedures being more complex when the number of annexes to the declaration is greater”.

“When submitting the model 3 declaration, the taxpayer immediately has proof of delivery available”, notes the Ministry of Finance, adding that “the fact that a taxpayer is unable to access proof of the model 3 declaration only means that this declaration is still was not subject to the validation procedure”.

The campaign to submit the IRS declaration for 2023 income began on April 1st and runs until June 30th.
