Alba Renai is the first Spanish presenter created by artificial intelligence | Television

There is more and more talk about artificial intelligence (AI). After generating images, texts, conversations and even making wine, artificial intelligence arrives on television. This time, the flesh-and-blood presenters are replaced by Alba Renai, the first Spanish presenter created by AI.

Alba Renai presents a segment of the program “Survivors”, a reality show Spanish that started on March 14th, on the Telecinco channel. In addition to television, the virtual presenter also takes over social media, where she makes herself known and participates in some interviews, even sharing personal experiences and desires.

Created by the communications company Mediaset, Alba is a young influencer 24 years old, born in September 2023. In the digital world, she is already a known face. On Instagram, she has an audience of more than seven thousand followers and on Tik Tok, she has almost 14 thousand fans. Initially, the first contents denounced its artificiality but now it is beginning to be confused with reality.

According to the Wired, the artificial intelligence used for the project manages to create realistic animation, along with an expressive and surprisingly human voice. In a statement on the official page of reality showthose responsible believe that this “is an important step in the collaboration of traditional entertainment and new forms of digital communication, led by AI”.

This is not an unprecedented project. In March 2023, the Radiofórmula Group had already created Nat, which presented some specific informative segments from one of Latin America’s informative channels. According to Wired, one of the main objectives was to transmit factual information in a neutral way, combining modernity with information. In addition to television and like Alba, Nat also appeared on social media, in several explanatory videos.

Alba announced her entry into the program on her official Instagram account. “This is a dream come true and I can’t wait to embark on this adventure with you,” she wrote. Her profile is quite similar to that of any regular digital user: photos of travel, food, fashion and parties. In her biography, you can read that she is created by artificial intelligence, however, the level of detail and naturalness can deceive the most inattentive. This is a new advancement in the field of artificial intelligence.
