Marina Ruy Barbosa reveals why she didn’t shave her hair in a soap opera | Daniel Nascimento

An old controversy by Marina Ruy Barbosa became a topic again on social media this Monday (1st) after Bella Campos declared that she would only shave her hair for R$5 million. Because of the statement, internet users recalled that the redhead decided not to cut her hair when she starred in the soap opera “Amor à Vida” (2013), in which she played Nicola, a young woman with cancer.

At the time, the public expected Marina to shave her hair as was done by Carolina Dieckmann in a memorable scene in the soap opera “Laços de Família” (2000), which did not happen. Because of this, rumors arose that Nicole had died in the plot after the actress refused to shave her hair.

With this new controversy, Marina decided to put an end to the story and revealed the real reason for not having shaved her hair. “If they give Bella a wipe, they have to give it to Marina, who to this day still talks about her not changing her look,” said an internet user on Instagram.

“It wasn’t quite like that. At the time I was called, I was told that the character would be one of the protagonists and that we would do a big social action about Nicole’s cancer (my character!). As a soap opera is an open work, anything can change. And it changed”, explained Marina.

“The author [Walcyr Carrasco] He ended up giving priority to other stories, we wouldn’t do the social action and soon after there would be a passage of time and I would appear wearing a wig. In light of the changes, I spoke with Globo’s management at the time and, together, we saw that it made no sense to scrape in the face of the reality that was being presented. I believe that each case is different, it all depends on the text, the character and the story of each one”, he added.
