It was 15 years ago that the North American magazine Life published its latest issue. Now, it will be able to return to life and to the newsstands through the hands of the couple Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner who acquired the rights to the publication, which had as its distinctive feature the emphasis given to photography and where names that became legendary such as Roberto Capa passed through.

In addition to her modeling career, she was a Victoria’s Secret angel, Karlie Kloss is a businesswoman and founded a summer camp just for girls, to learn how to code. Her husband, Joshua Kushner, is a multimillionaire and younger brother of Jared Kushner — he is married to Ivanka Trump and was Donald Trump’s advisor when he was in the White House, like his wife.

Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner marked their union in October 2018, in a small Jewish ceremony, and have two sons, Levi and Elijah. Unlike Ivanka and Jared, Republicans, Karlie and Joshua are known for being more progressive, with the model supporting everything from Obama to Biden, not forgetting Hillary Clinton. The couple owns Bedford Media, a group that last November acquired the rights to the British fashion magazine iD.

For the relaunch of life, Bedford Media, the couple’s company, joined one of the largest North American media companies, Dotdash Meredith, owner of almost fifty publications such as People, InStyle, Food&Wine, Travel + Leisure It is EntertainmentWeekly; and which also holds the Teamrealizes the El País.

For now, the magazine’s relaunch date has not yet been announced, but it is known that Joshua Kushner will be the director and that the couple will manage the publication, reports the Variety. Dotdash Meredith will have all rights to the magazine’s extensive archive, which dates back to the 1930s, and will be responsible for printing special editions on newsstands.

“We see the Life as an uplifting and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape,” said Karlie Kloss, CEO of Bedford Media, in a statement cited by Variety. “While Bedford is a new media company, we are deeply inspired by the iconic legacy of Life and for the ability to connect diverse audiences to universal narratives of humanity.”
