Brazilian Livia Voigt, heiress of the machinery and equipment company WEG, in Santa Catarina, is the youngest billionaire in the world, according to Forbes magazine’s 2024 annual ranking.
With your shareholding in the company, the 19-year-old, who just started college, has assets of US$1.1 billion (R$5.56 billion). Average, It’s as if she had earned R$763,252.84 per day since July 10, 2004, the date of her birth.
A resident of Florianópolis, she takes the place of the Italian Clemente Del Vecchio, the youngest of the six children of Leonardo Del Vecchio, the tycoon who founded Luxottica, the largest eyewear brand in the world.
Her older sister, Dora Voight, is also on the list at age 26.. They are the youngest granddaughters of Werner Ricardo Voigt, co-founder of the Brazilian production company, who died in 2016.
With around 3% of the company’s shares, according to Forbes, they are two of seven new faces among the 25 youngest billionaires and two of the group’s 18 heiresses. The sisters do not participate in the board or management of WEG.
Their older cousins Eduardo Voigt Schwartz and Mariana Voigt Schwartz Gomes also join the list due to their participation in WEG. Each has just under 4% of the company’s shares, which is equivalent to US$1.3 billion in equity.
