Rio – After the great repercussion of the dispute over the registration of the “calabreso” brand between Toninho Tornado and Mani Reggo, the lawyer for Non Stop Produções, which manages the comedian, issued a public note about the case. According to the statement issued on Monday night (22), after “friendly negotiations”, Mani Reggo informed that he will withdraw the request from the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

“After wide repercussion of the case, Mr. Fábio de Almeida, representative of Ms. Mani Reggo and Ms. Fabiana Reggo, contacted the company’s CEO, Mr. Carlos Henrique Ximenes Diniz (‘Kaká Diniz’). During the friendly negotiations, it was agreed that the Instituto Maria Preta will withdraw the application for registration of the brands ‘Calabreso’ and ‘X Calabreso’ with the INPI, considering the recognition of the originality of the catchphrase created by Toninho Tornado”, informs the note published on Instagram of the artist.

The ex-wife of Davi, champion of “BBB 24”, asked for the term to be registered at the beginning of February, through Instituto Maria Preta, after the Bahian used the expression in a fight inside the house with MC Binn and Lucas Buda . Two days later, Toninho Tornado’s agency also filed the application. In the public note, the company comments on the beginning of the case.

“After the term ‘Calabreso’ was mentioned in a reality show, the company conducted a series of brand monitoring with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and began an internal process to formalize the application for registration of this term with the aim of protecting the interests of our agent”, said the statement.
