In the ‘hangover’ of the separation with Ben, Rita Ferro Rodrigues assumes “toxic relationships” – Nacional

Rita Ferro Rodrigues, 47 years oldended up in the eye of the media storm with the end of the 18-year relationship with Rúben Vieira. After the signs of crisis, news emerged of the existence of a third person who had led Ben to leave the family home.

Rita Ferro Rodrigues has remained secretive about her split with Ben. However, on the podcast ‘N’A Caravana’, the Canal 11 presenter opened a few pages from the book of his love life to talk about toxic relationships. “I had some toxic relationships as a child that later caused some conflicts and I had a great need for affirmation and independence”, she admitted.

“A smile can hide… The fact that you are how people see me, a strong and emancipated woman, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have the same problems as other women whose image is not projected in this way, does not mean that it is not what I am”, explained Rita Ferro Rodrigues.

“I have now presented the book of a psychologist, by Diana [Cruz]who talked about toxic relationships, says precisely that. In toxic relationships, the predator looks for strong women. The pleasure of toxic relationships is to undermine and destroy a strong personality. If it’s weak, it’s no fun at all”, he pointed out.

And, to avoid the risk of drawing conclusions about her relationship with Ben, the presenter preferred to clarify: “I haven’t had any more toxic relationships in my adult life. I’m glad it happened so soon, because it was the right time to set boundaries in my relationships. Even so, every now and then things get over the top, because that’s life. But I quickly realized where I was vulnerable.”
