This Thursday, April 25th, marked the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution. Avowed defender of Human Rights, Rita Ferro Rodrigues decided to walk down Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon, and record the moment on social media.

“When we think we are alone, let us remember this April. A sea of ​​people on the Avenue and I walk down it every year, I’ve never seen anything like it”the presenter began by writing in the caption of that image.

And, year after year, the journalist makes a point of remembering the importance of having friends and family with you. “I go down with my parents, brothers, with my three children, with cousins, nephews and even a grandnephew, with my parents’ friends, with my friends who are family and with thousands of happy people”he then stressed.

“[Pessoas] of all generations, of all democratic parties, of all sexual orientations, colors, creeds, so many different lives united by the most beautiful day ever, the day that brought us freedom. When we think we are alone, let’s remember: no one lets go of anyone’s hand. April 25th always”he wrote, finally.
