The unbelievable life of Joana Anes, protagonist of ‘Rebelde Way’

Rebel Way reached the SIC antenna in 2008. 15 years later, it arrived at OPTO, a streaming of the channel, on April 29th, and promises to keep viewers hooked on the screen again. “The beginning of recording is the first memorable memory I have, we started recording summer scenes in winter. We spent about two weeks in Sagres, in the Algarve, recording lots of weeks at the beach. It was very challenging, that was what being an actor was and I was the protagonist”he began by saying.

But it seems that the invitation to join this youth series did not happen by chance, it’s just that the performer was still recording Floribella when I found out that a new production was going to start. “The challenge came at the end of the castings for all the characters in ‘Rebele Way’. It was then that I realized that I was going to receive the character of Mia Rossi“he recalled.

“I was recording ‘Floribella’ and at the end of the recordings I was already being interviewed by the production team to find out how I would take on the role of protagonist, if I could sing, etc. I did all the casting scenes, with all the characters from ‘Rebelde’”he confessed.

However, Joana Anes still waited some time to find out if she would really be the main character of that new bet at the Paço de Arcos station. “I spent three months with my back turned to the camera giving the other actors the role and then it was Teresa Guilherme [produtora da série] who had the final say on getting the role of Mia”he revealed.

The requirement to be a protagonist

After all the time the auditions lasted and knowing that I would actually be part of the main group of actors in Rebel Wayfilming followed. “There were more than 200 episodes. There were 12 hours of recording, more than 20 scenes per day. At a certain point during the recordings, we still had everything that was extra to the series: the band, the concerts, the autograph sessions or the perfume campaigns”remembered.

Knowing that, at that time, social networks did not have the strength they have today, Joana Anes recalled the affection she received on the street from fans. “On the street, people recognized me a lot. Even though the ‘Rebel’ reboot arrived 15 years later, we, the four protagonists, even created a WhatsApp group to talk about the series again.”he revealed.

“All the success of ‘Rebelde’ ended up being a little diluted over the years, but the truth is that there were already fan pages and we received daily messages. Not only from Portugal, but from Brazil to Venezuela”he said, thanking the fans for their love after so many years.

The acting career and the desire to succeed in music

When she began taking her first steps in the world of acting, Joana Anes never thought that her career could multiply into many other things. “At the time, I entered this field a little without the ability to think about a career. There are young people who already have things very defined”he said.

“I was 19 years old when I made my first soap opera. It all happened by chance, but I still remember how it all started. I was at an audition when the Adriano Luz and he immediately asked me if I could sing. And that’s how I got my first role.”he recalled, referring to the first production he was in.

However, the actress did not just stick to fiction. “In fact, music has always been present in my life. I studied piano at the conservatory and music was what I was most certain about. Even though I love performing, and I love giving life to other people, music is what always fulfilled me.”said.

“In fact, I moved away from the area of ​​acting after ‘Rebelde’. Maybe because of the uncertainty of what I wanted to do. I was in a very absorbing phase. But I wanted to be the owner of my decisions.”he confessed.

The desire to return to acting and the decision to emigrate

Still talking to the website Fame Showthere was a question that had to be asked: does Joana Anes intend to return to the world of fiction? “I would participate again, without a doubt. The return of ‘Rebelde’ is happening at a very interesting stage”he revealed.

And the truth is that, once again, the actress doesn’t want to stick to fiction, especially because she’s been preparing new things for some time. “We, the protagonists, always had some aptitude for music. I chose, at the age of 40, to emigrate to Switzerland to earn above average and have a space where I could produce my album. I already have the lyrics very well thought out”he confessed.

“This move to Switzerland happened during the pandemic, which shook everyone up. At that point, I was a full-time DJ. By chance, at the time, I didn’t have much savings and I became a ‘bartender’ on cruises.. When the pandemic regulations were lifted, I thought that maybe I needed a healthier life.”said.

And that was how Joana Anes arrived in Switzerland. However, in addition to looking for better living conditions, she also wanted to dedicate herself to the album and another passion: snowboard.

The passion for ‘snowboarding’

“With a group of friends, instead of having parties, we started wakeboarding and with this passion emerging, I started thinking about where I could do snowboarding and also dedicate myself to my album”he said, explaining how he made that Central European destination his new home.

“My days in Switzerland are like this, working in the hotel bar, singing there at night and also snowboarding, which is already an old passion.”the singer confided about what her routine is like in that country.

For now, her album is in the ‘secrets of the Gods’, but if she could collaborate with another singer, it would be with Carolina Deslandes. “I won’t deny that I have my fingers crossed and hope that doors will open with the visibility that ‘Rebele Way’ can give us”he finished.
