The first weekend of Income Tax declaration of 2024 already has more than 2.2 million taxpayers up to date, according to data from the Federal Revenue until 4 pm this Sunday (16).

More than 43 million declarations are expected this year, and the current amount already declared corresponds to just over 5% of what is expected by the Federal Revenue Service.

The deadline for submitting the Income Tax declaration began at 8 am last Friday (15th) and runs until 11:59 pm on May 31st.

The vast majority of declarations already submitted (88%) will be entitled to a refund, while 6.7% will have to pay Income Tax and 5.3% will neither pay nor be reimbursed.

Income Tax declaration deadlines were readjusted from 2020 onwards, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and since last year, they have started in mid-March to give taxpayers time to prepare after the income reports arrive. .

The Income Tax declaration will have changes this year. One of the main ones is the increase in the income limit that requires the document to be sent due to the change in the exemption range.

To this end, the amount received annually that requires the taxpayer to declare rose from R$28,559.70 to R$30,639.90.
