PGJ and TJAM Judge meet to discuss and plan joint instruction and trial sessions

The Attorney General of Justice (PGJ), Alberto Rodrigues do Nascimento Júnior, received an institutional visit from the Judge of the Court of Justice of the State of Amazonas (TJAM), João de Jesus Abdala Simões, at the headquarters of the Public Ministry of Amazonas (MPAM) , this Thursday, 21. The main focus of the meeting was the discussion and alignment of the joint instruction and trial sessions of the criminal courts in the capital and the interior, in addition to the joint effort of plenary jury sessions in the capital.

The joint efforts aim to meet the demands of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which established changes to the National Judiciary Strategy 2021-2026, governed by Resolution No. 325/2020 of the CNJ. These changes have the primary objective of improving the indicator “Processing time of pending cases, considering the phases within the Judiciary, within the challenge of agility and productivity in judicial provision”.

The initiative seeks to implement the constitutional guarantee of the reasonable duration of the process, ensuring effective and agile judicial provision, without compromising legal and procedural security. This commitment is in line with the fundamental principle of the right to a reasonable duration of the judicial process, as provided for in section LXXVIII of article 5 of the Constitution of the Republic of 1988, included by Constitutional Amendment No. 45/2004.

The collaboration between MPAM and TJAM reinforces the joint commitment to ensuring more efficient and accessible justice for the population of Amazonas, thus promoting greater speed in the resolution of legal proceedings.
