The mayor of Arapongas, Sérgio Onofre, received the president of the City Council, Márcio Nickenig, in his office. The meeting formalized a new return of resources from the Legislative Branch to the Municipal Executive, in the amount of R$ 475,690.62. According to a study carried out, the Arapongas City Council received an excess of funds, as the budget approved by Law no. 5,267, of November 22, 2023, for the Legislature, was R$15,496,331.77. “However, in accordance with article 29, paragraph 2, item III of the Federal Constitution, the Legislative Branch will receive the proportion established in the Budget Law, that is, the value of the budget divided into 12 months”, signs Márcio Nickenig.
Therefore, the monthly transfer to the Legislative Branch should be, according to the approved budget, R$ 1,291,360.98. However, R$1,767,051.60 was transferred. “The aforementioned return will not harm the financial forecast established for the year 2024”, adds Nickenig.
Mayor Sérgio Onofre stated that the Legislature’s initiative is very positive. “This is a technical study that made it possible to transfer more money than expected by law to the municipal public coffers. Legislative and Executive moving in the same direction, in order to provide improvements for the population. I thank the President of the House and also the others for the initiative”, highlighted Sérgio Onofre.
