CM Punk is currently involved in the rivalry between World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre and will commentate on the match between the two at WrestleMania XL.
The “Second City Saint” had his first official match back at the Royal Rumble, where he suffered an injury that has kept him out until now.
Obviously, this injury ruined the original plans for “Best In The Word”.
Speaking on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, CM Punk revealed the original plans:
A lot has changed. I came back and told Triple H: “Look, I’m not here to steal anyone’s attention or take over anyone’s main event.“.
I get it. Ten years ago, I was upset when I had to watch The Rock vs. John Cena two years in a row. Now, everything is different.
WrestleMania is in two nights. More people have this opportunity.
For me, according to booker In my head, you can’t become a talent main event if you don’t work with other talents in the main event.
That’s what I want. More knowledge and experience. I want to be that guy and see if I can be that guy.
The plan, I think, was me and Seth.
