In the period from March 24 to 30, the capital of Amazonas registered 18 new cases of dengue, among 83 cases reported (suspected) in the last week. In 2024, the municipality has 1,796 confirmed cases, out of a total of 7,395 reported cases, of which 946 remain under investigation. The number of deaths from arbovirus remains at one, and two others are being investigated.

The data comes from the new Arbovirus Epidemiological Report released this Monday (1st) by the Municipal Health Department (Semsa). The publication contains numbers of dengue, zika, chikungunya and oropouche cases.

According to the publication, in the week under study, there were no records of confirmed or suspected cases of zika and chikungunya. In the period from January 1 to March 30, 62 cases of Zika were reported, of which 19 were confirmed; of chikungunya, there were 68 cases reported and four confirmed. Eight suspected cases of Zika and 33 of Chikungunya continue to be investigated, with no deaths under investigation or confirmed from these arboviruses.

The municipal report also does not show new cases of oropouche in the last epidemiological week, with the total number of cases of arbovirus in Manaus remaining at 846 in 2024, confirmed by laboratory criteria. The total number of deaths from the disease remains at one, confirmed by laboratory criteria. There are no deaths or cases under investigation. The publication does not contain data on reported cases of oropouche, as it is not a mandatory notification condition.
