Health promotes “D-Day of Mobilization against Aedes”

On Saturday, March 23, the second stage of “D-Day” to combat the Aedes mosquito took place, promoted by the Department of Health, through a mobilization action, on Calçadão Ibrahim Jacob.
After the success of the first joint effort that took place on February 24th, where around seven tons of materials that could become Aedes aegypti outbreaks were collected, once again the population was reminded of the importance of care in homes and businesses to avoid focuses, on the use of repellents and get to know the life stages of the villainous mosquito up close.
The program of activities included stretching, followed by a walk along the Boardwalk, with the participation of physical activity groups from the Department of Health and Unimed, employees of the Department of Health and Regional Health Management.
In addition, stands were set up with guidelines, leaflets and educational blitzes at traffic lights in the region, carried out by Endemic Disease Control Agents from the Zoonosis Control sector. Those who passed by the site also had the opportunity to observe under a microscope, with the instruction of professionals from Epidemiological and Environmental Surveillance, the stages of Aedes from the larvae to the mosquito, which attracted the curious looks of the children.
This event was supported by partners such as Unimed, which provided gifts for the draw, Intersind, ACIUBÁ and ADUBAR, the Municipal Guard and the Military Fire Department. Employees of the Health Care and Promotion Division and also the Surveillance Management were present and collaborated in the implementation.
Other actions, in addition to Agent visits and the backpack pump service, are being carried out and some are still planned in partnership with colleges, schools and collaborating companies.
