Without consent, do not suggest weight loss in any way, because we don’t know what the person is doing. Could it be that she has already been in treatment for six months? Pabyle Flauzino, nutritionist

In the weight loss process, body weight is not the only parameter. More than the number on the scale or physical appearance, it is important to look at the quality of the results: better sleep, more energy throughout the day, walking for longer, including one more fruit in your diet.

The BMI (body mass index) considered normal does not need to be the goal. In some cases, it would not even be viable. Studies indicate that a loss of 3% to 5% of weight is already clinically significant for reducing cardiovascular risks.

Therefore, the body acceptance movement sheds light on the recovery of self-esteem. “It’s trying to remove the body image of a thin body and start thinking that the possible body, perhaps, is a fat body”, says Flauzino.

2) “You looked so good before”

Comparisons do not help as a stimulus, neither in relation to other people nor to herself. As stated, weight change is multifactorial and it would be unrealistic, in general, to compare the appearance of a body at 20 years of age with the same body at 40.
