The Recife Health Department (Sesau) increased the number of dengue vaccination points in the city. Now, the population has another 63 rooms available in the eight health districts of the capital of Pernambuco. The objective is to guarantee easy access to immunization for children and adolescents between 10 and 14 years old, a group considered to be at highest risk of hospitalization.

Sesau asks the population to bring, at the time of vaccination, an identification document (mandatory), vaccination card and the SUS card. The complete list of all 69 vaccination rooms can be seen on the CBN Recife portal.

Nádia Carneiro, manager of the Recife Immunization Program, explains the importance of expanding vaccination in Recife, which has been carried out with the Qdenga immunizer, protecting against serotypes 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the disease.

“This measure represents an important advance in combating arboviruses in Recife, complementing vector control and patient care actions. We are confident that vaccination against dengue will have a positive impact on reducing the incidence of the disease in our city. The active participation of parents and guardians is essential to achieving comprehensive vaccination coverage”, he highlighted.

It is also important that everyone does their part in combating the Aedes aegypti mosquito, such as eliminating stagnant water in containers and keeping water tanks and gutters clean.
