Alentejo & Ribatejo Outdoor, the new Tourism platform for Alentejo and Ribatejo

Through the website http://www.alentejo-ribatejo-outdoor.com/pt, from Turismo do Alentejo e Ribatejo, it is possible to have access to around 130 walking routes and more than 140 cycling routes (mountain biking, road cycling, gravel and cycle tourism) ranging from the Alentejo and Ribatejo territories, to the ‘Caminhos de Santiago’ and respective stages, which cross the destinations, to information and the location of the Cyclin’Portugal Centers to support cyclists. The portal also allows you to download and browse the Caminhos de Santiago, Responsible Trails and Outdooractive applications.

“In this new portal we now provide structured and detailed information about the various route options for both destinations. There is a diverse offer in both Alentejo and Ribatejo, which we invite you to explore throughout the year. This launch is part of the regional development strategy for tourism and reinforces the structuring of products and their dissemination among the target audience”, says the president of the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, José Santos.

For those who want to visit the nature of Alentejo and Ribatejo, you will find on this portal the different options developed by the managing entities, namely Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, Rota Vicentina, Intermunicipal Community of Alto Alentejo and its municipalities.

The Alentejo & Ribatejo Outdoor destination portal was developed in partnership with A2Z, with Outdooractive technology behind it, so that users can plan their nature adventure and navigate the routes, using the portal and smartphone applications.

Through the Alentejo and Ribatejo outdoor world portal, visitors will be able to access the best outdoor experiences, from the inspiration phase of the visit, exploration and choice, identification of their points of interest and bike friendly accommodation in a georeferenced way .

The presentation of this new communication tool by the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo and the publication of the annual calendar of events that will take place in 2024 in the two destinations, took place on March 1st during the BTL – Lisbon Tourism Exchange .

Ribatejo’s annual agenda celebrates gastronomy, nature, music and horses, in various events such as Eel Month and the National Crafts and Traditional Products Fair, in Salvaterra de Magos, in March; the International Ballooning Festival, in Coruche, from the 21st to the 24th of this month; the Cartaxo Wine Festival, between April 26th and May 1st; the Sorraia Summer Fest, from the 12th to the 14th of July, in the Cavalo Sorraia Natural Reserve; the Sopa da Pedra Festival, from August 26th to September 1st, in Almeirim; or the Golegã Horse Fair, from November 1st to 11th.

Alentejo invites you to experience its authenticity, identity and tradition, combined with innovation. Until December, there are many proposals to visit the Alentejo lands, from the Açordas Congress, from March 22nd to April 7th, in Portel; passing by the XXI Conventual and Traditional Sweets Fair of Portalegre, on the 19th and 20th of April; Pés no Chão – Campo Maior International Dance Festival, from May 3rd to 5th; Migas Congress, in Mourão, in May; or the 10th Marvão International Music Festival, from July 19th to 28th.

The president of the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, José Santos, concludes: “There are many reasons to visit Ribatejo and Alentejo in 2024. In addition to our offer, it is now possible to choose one or more events from these two calendars containing both irrefutable experiences.”
