The Left Bloc (BE) was left without the only member that, in 2021, it had managed to elect to the Municipal Assembly of Condeixa, after Gisela Almeida left the party, opting, however, to remain in that municipal body as a independent. By not resigning from her mandate, the nurse makes it impossible for the Bloc to replace her with another member of the list presented for suffrage in the last local elections.

“I remain here and will continue here with the aim of placing the citizen at the center of public policy decisions, because I believe that in this way policies can be affirmed in institutions with the guarantee of sustainability and social cohesion”, stated Gisela Almeida at the Municipal Assembly meeting held on February 26th, highlighting that he now presents himself “without party affiliation, but with the same connection to democracy and freedom that characterizes me”.

Without elaborating on the reasons that led to the decision to leave BE, the nurse alluded, however, to “difficult times of struggle that I will have to remember every day of my existence”.
