The University of Algarve, through CRIA and CinTurs, is part of the Digital Innovation for Blue Economy and Social Tourism project – DIBEST, a partnership formed by 15 entities, from four countries in the Atlantic Area: Spain, France, Ireland and Portugal.

DIBEST aims to help companies to be more sustainable and at the same time more competitive. In this context, a project meeting was recently held in Malaga, where good practices were presented that can serve as inspiration for other companies looking to explore the potential of digital innovation.

The next step is to carry out an analysis of training needs in the digital area, by tourism micro-enterprises. The University of Algarve is the partner entity responsible for this activity (1.3) and will organize a focus group with training entities, micro and tourist SMEs in the Algarve, and other organizations with relevant activity in the sector. The initiative takes place on March 7th, at 10:15 am, at the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School, in Faro.

In addition to UAlg, the Algarve Tourism Region, the Algarve Region Business Association (NERA) and Sines Tecnopolo participate in the project.

The DIBEST project is co-financed by the Interreg Espaço Atlântico program, in priority intervention area 1.2.1 – Blue economy, social and cultural tourism.
