The Municipality of Bragança signed rental support contracts for housing with 107 families, for a total value of 119,750 euros.
“We believe that this measure is very important for families who, similar to what happens throughout the country, face difficulties in relation to housing expenses. It thus allows them to live with dignity and safety”, highlighted the Mayor of Bragança, Paulo Xavier, at the signing ceremony of the rental support contracts, within the scope of the Municipal Fund to Support Rental for Housing in the Municipality, on March 7th, at the Paulo Quintela Auditorium.
The Municipal Housing Rental Support Fund of the Municipality of Bragança, created in 2020 (following the difficulties faced by families resulting from Covid-19), is intended to support families who have difficulties in ensuring the payment of rental values in the private market, allowing them to keep their families in the properties where they live and ensuring their right to decent housing.
In 2024, 114 applications were evaluated for the Bragança Municipality’s Rental Support Fund, of which 107 were validated.
In 2020, the measure supported 27 families. In 2021, 47 households were supported, and in 2022 57 were supported. In 2023, 98 families were supported.
