ASAE seizes 25 tons of food in Sabores do Mundo operation

The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) suspended the activity of 5 economic operators for non-compliance with general and specific requirements and seized around 25 tons of food, 550 packages, 850 bottles of wine, and 8 weighing instruments (scales), all with an estimated value of 56 thousand euros, as part of an inspection operation, carried out from the north to the south of the country, aimed at retail establishments selling foodstuffs from various regions of the world.

According to a statement sent to Rádio Boa Nova, ASAE inspected 225 economic operators, with 2 criminal cases being initiated for damaged foodstuffs and violation and illegal use of denomination (DOP) and 89 administrative offense cases, standing out as the main infractions , the lack of mere prior communication, the failure to comply with general and specific hygiene requirements, the lack of implementation of HACCP, the lack of mandatory mentions and information on labeling, the lack of prices on goods and the complaints book, among others.
