Viana Chamber guarantees another 102 thousand euros to support parishes in the municipality

The Viana do Castelo City Council approved this Monday, in an ordinary executive meeting, two proposals worth a total of 102,340 euros within the scope of Support for the Construction and Requalification of Equipment and Support for Mobility, Road Safety and Rolling Stock.

The biggest slice goes to the proposal for Support for Parish Councils and Unions – Construction and Requalification of Equipmentworth 60,440 euros for three projects.

To the Mount35 thousand euros were approved for the second phase of construction of the Mortuary House.

Now for the Union of Parishes of Mazarefes and Vila Fria Two funds were approved: 9 thousand euros for the acquisition of land and requalification of access to the Vila Fria 1980 sports complex and 16 440 euros for the requalification of the sports equipment at the Casa do Povo de Mazarefes.

According to the proposal, this support appears to “leverage responses in the territory in the areas of social, cultural, sporting and economic services, highlighting the construction, rehabilitation and refunctionalization of spaces for administrative, social and leisure (social centers), leisure (playgrounds) and cultural responses, responding to the development dynamics of each parish, valuing and ensuring convergence of means and optimization of resources, guaranteeing the quality of life and well-being of its inhabitants”.

As for the proposal for Support for Parish Councils and Unions – Mobility, Road Safety and Rolling Stock 41,900 euros were approved.

For Afife, 4,900 euros were approved for the purchase of machines for maintaining green spaces, to Alvarães there were 10 thousand euros for the purchase of a hydraulic sweeper for a tractor and 27 thousand euros for Darque, to complete the paving on Mena Matos and 3 de Julho Streets.

“Despite notable progress, the municipal executive and the Unions and Parish Councils intend to continue the strong investment policy, carrying out actions and construction works of new roads and works of art, re-profiling of the road network and existing works of art, requalification of pavements, execution of new and requalification of existing intersections, construction and requalification of existing pedestrian spaces, structural expansion of the network of cycle paths and ecoways, construction and requalification of parking spaces and public/collective transport infrastructures (bays and stops), suppression of level crossings (construction of road and pedestrian underpasses and overpasses) and implementation of an extensive horizontal (paintings) and vertical (signs) signage plan, dedicating in the 2024 Activity Plan and Budget, for this purpose, more than 8.5 million euros which, once completed, will increase the safety levels of the municipality’s structure/road network and the quality of life of the respective territorial spaces”, assures the document.
