247 – Spanish Noel Remédios, identified as the killer of Brazilian Paulo Machado, 36, who had his lower limbs found next to a trash can in Lisbon, committed the crime out of jealousy, according to the Portuguese Judicial Police. Arrested last week, the man confessed to the crime to local authorities.

According to CNN Portugal, Noel Remédios, 48, told the police he knew he would be caught and that he had no intention of running away. The murder happened shortly after the couple returned to the address in the Lapa neighborhood from a trip to Madrid. An argument allegedly arose between the two, motivated by jealousy, according to the television channel. Paulo Machado was allegedly stabbed three times in the neck by Noel Remédios, who placed the man’s body in a bathtub and left the residence to buy garbage bags and ink. The walls of the apartment were painted in an attempt to hide the blood marks left by the crime.
