Braga Hospital received 10 wheelchairs today from the family of a user who is being monitored by the Oncology Service at that health institution. The gesture of solidarity appears as a form of gratitude for the care provided by professionals.

Bruno Gutman, 43 years old, is Portuguese-Brazilian and moved to Braga five years ago, the city where his third child was born, at Braga Hospital. Recently, the father began to be monitored at the Oncology Service of the Braga Local Health Unit, where, according to Bruno Gutman, “the service provided has been exceptional”.

“It was from that moment on that we raised money from friends and family, many in Brazil, to collaborate with the Hospital, firstly because users receive free care, secondly because we can play an active role in the proper functioning of the institution”, he said. the lawyer and businessman.

“In this way, we reciprocate for the services that have always been provided to our family, the people of Braga and all foreigners who live in the city”, he added.

The family was received by the Board of Directors of the Braga Local Health Unit at the Braga Hospital Library, which recognized “the generous gesture” and highlighted “the importance of these types of acts for the institution”. “This donation is a recognition of the work that our professionals carry out, daily, with dedication and humanism”, stated Américo Afonso, Member of the Board of Directors of ULS de Braga. “Wheelchairs will be used to improve the quality of life of our users who require assisted mobility”, he highlighted.

Domingos Sousa, president of the Board of Directors of the Braga Local Health Unit, reiterated his gratitude on behalf of the entire institution. “Health is everyone’s commitment, from prevention to disease treatment, and there must be this sense of commitment between everyone”, he said. “We were very grateful to see people being part of the solution to problems and proactively contributing to the improvement of the NHS”, he said.

Bruno Gutman took advantage of the moment to motivate more business entities in the city of Braga to replicate the gesture. “Braga has a huge business community, there are many companies with a lot of value, which can be active elements in favor of social responsibility”, he concluded.
