User’s family offers 10 wheelchairs to Braga Hospital as a gesture of gratitude – Society

The family of a cancer patient being treated at Braga Hospital offered ten wheelchairs to the Braga Local Health Unit as a form of “thank you for the care provided by the professionals”.

Bruno Gutman, a 43-year-old Portuguese-Brazilian lawyer, based in Braga for five years, decided to carry out this solidarity gesture. “AWe raised the amount from friends and family, many in Brazil, to collaborate with the hospital, firstly because users receive free care, secondly because we can play an active role in the proper functioning of the institution”, said the lawyer, who is also a businessman . Quoted in a statement issued this Friday morning by Braga Hospital, the lawyer, whose father is being monitored at the Health Unit’s Oncology Service, states that the gesture aims to repay “the services that have always been provided to the family , to Braga residents and to all foreigners who reside in the city”.

Bruno Gutman also launched the challenge for more business entities in the city of Braga to replicate the solidarity gesture. “Braga has a huge business community. There are many companies with a lot of value that can be active elements in favor of social responsibility”, he challenged.

The family was received by the Board of Directors of ULS de Braga at the Braga Hospital Library, which recognized the generous gesture and highlighted the importance of these types of acts for the institution.
