PS/Faro accuses the City Council of, despite having presented an amending budget of 100 million euros, the document leaves “everything the same” in the municipality.
In a statement, the Farense socialists accuse that, of the 25 million management balance, incorporated in this budget, only around 9.5 will be “applied to capital expenditure”.
«What is the use of 100 million in the budget and the entire riverfront needs to be redeveloped? What good is a budget of 100 million without infrastructure? What is the use of 100 million in the budget and so many people in Faro without a home? What is the use of 100 million budgets and closed and abandoned playgrounds? What’s the point of having a budget of 100 million euros if our children’s schools have ready-made food? What is the point of having a budget of 100 million if there is no policy of guidance and serious support for the elderly?”, asks PS/Faro.
Thus, in the opinion of the socialists, the amending budget “does not change the record that has led the municipality of Faro to its usual state, in terms of public spaces, infrastructures and social differences, which is based on daily management, without any vision and planning”.
