“This oasis of creativity is located in a small contemporary bistro in the heart of the historic center of Viseu, led by João Guedes at the stoves and Anna responsible for the dining room, with a selection of wines that are always up to par so you can enjoy yourself.” This is how Flora is described, which is located in the historic center of Viseu and has been chef João’s home since 2020, when he decided to return from London where he spent six years, accumulating experience in the restaurants Tata Eatery, Sager+Wilde and Chiltern Firehouse (by the Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes).

Chef Marlene Vieira’s dishes, such as smoked pork loin Tartare, peas and roasted garlic and Tramezzini with fish and prawn from our coast, bottarga and saffron, are joined by Flora classics such as spicy polenta with fennel pickle and molejas, cauliflower, yeast purée and chicken jus.

To match this meal, Zunzum invited producer José Domingues to present his Terrunho wines: “The fascination and passion for the region where I was born, the desire to experience teachings and memories and the taste for sharing, lead me to place in this brand, all the feelings and sensations that grape varieties and nature transmit to me. Terrunho is the context. Wine is the expression and language.” To kick off this pop-up, we also counted on Martini to sponsor the welcome drink.

This is the fourth of 12 events taking place throughout the year to celebrate Portuguese flavors and ingredients, presented using different techniques and reflecting the signature of each guest chef. The menus are made up of the guest’s signature dishes and creations by chef Marlene Vieira and the wines are handled by a small producer, invited to present their creations.
