“Air France’s offer will remain stable in Portugal in the summer of 2024”, highlights the statement released by the airline, which explains that, in the national territory, it will operate from three Portuguese airports – Faro, Lisbon and Porto – in a offer complemented by that of KLM, which maintains direct flights from Lisbon and Porto to Amsterdam-Schiphol, as well as the codeshare with Delta Air Lines to the USA.

Air France’s biggest bet for the summer of 2024 is long-haul, where the airline will have a 9% increase in capacity between March 31 and October 26, 2024, operating to a total of 85 destinations .

In the long haul, Air France will continue to strengthen connections to North America and will therefore resume service to Minneapolis (Minnesota) on May 13th with a daily flight and inaugurate a new connection between Paris-CDG and Phoenix (Arizona) on May 23, which will be operated three times a week on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

In North America, Air France will also reinforce air connections between Paris-CDG – Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina), which were inaugurated in the winter of 2023 with three weekly air connections and which, this summer, will contain up to seven flights/week.

Air France will also, on the occasion of the Cannes Film Festival, operate two special flights between Los Angeles (USA) and Nice (France), on an Airbus A350 equipped with state-of-the-art travel cabins and plans, during the summer, to offer more than 210 flights per week to 17 destinations in the United States, in addition to almost 60 flights per week to five destinations in Canada.

On the long haul and beyond North America, Air France will also extend the daily service to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) from Paris-CDG, which opened in winter 2023, into the summer, as well as renew the service to Dar Es Salam (Tanzania), opening in the summer of 2023, with three weekly flights, continuing from Zanzibar.

In Japan, the carrier will reinforce its offer with two daily flights between Paris-CDG and Tokyo-Haneda, while also maintaining flights to Tokyo-Narita Airport, with up to four weekly connections.

In the case of Africa, Air France also plans to add “frequencies to key destinations in Africa and the Indian Ocean”, such as Cotonou (Benin) and Antananarivo (Madagascar), which will be served daily, while Cameroon will have two daily flights, divided between Yaoundé and Douala, and connections to Brazzaville (Republic of Congo) will be operated on Airbus A350-900.

In the short and medium haul, Air France will fly to 102 destinations, providing 45 seasonal connections in France and Europe, including the inauguration, from Paris-CDG, of flights to Verona (Italy), which will have up to three flights per week from April 2nd, to Narvik Lofoten (Norway), which will have a flight every Saturday, from June 15th to August 31st, and Kalamata (Greece), which will have a flight every Saturday, from July 6th to August 31st.

The service to Tromsø (Norway), which was previously operated by Air France only in winter, will be extended to the summer season, with up to two weekly flights on Airbus A319.

Air France’s offer for short and medium haul is also complemented by that of Transavia, the low cost airline of the Air France/KLM group, which will have flights to 116 destinations in 33 countries this summer, on a total of 206 routes, and which will be the first airline low-cost departing from Paris airports.

This summer, Air France also plans to continue introducing new long-haul cabins on its Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, in a new product that will reach the Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes and which “constitutes the new travel standard for the company”.

“After New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Washington DC, Boston, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Dakar, Tokyo-Haneda, Hong Kong, Seoul Incheon, Shanghai and Johannesburg, these new cabins will be implemented this summer in Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Papeete, Mexico and Tokyo-Narita”, says Air France, in the released statement.
