Song released this Tuesday remembers the Russian opponent who died 40 days ago.

A group of Russian artists created a song and a music video to mark 40 days since the death of Alexey Navalny.

The song “In memory of Alexei Navalny” (In memory of Alexei Navalny), launched this Tuesday, featured the participation of more than a dozen artists, including Vera Polozkova, singer Zemfira, rapper Vlady and actor Artur Smolyaninov.

“Today 40 days pass since Alexei’s murder. Musicians, poets and artists recorded a song in memory of him. Thank you to everyone who remembered,” wrote Yulia Navalnaya, Navalny’s widow on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The animated video clip is inspired by the North American series “Rick and Morty”, which would be one of the Russian opponent’s favorites. It was even cited by Navalny himself in a Russian court.

“To live is to risk everything (…) Otherwise, we are nothing more than an inert piece of molecules gathered at random, adrift wherever the universe takes us”, he cited, in 2021.

Alexei Navalny died on February 16, aged 47, in the prison where he was held, in Siberia.
