AHETA integrates new management of the Portuguese Tourism Confederation

AHETA joins the new management of the Portuguese Tourism Confederation, after the last elections held this week, in the person of its president, Hélder Martins.

The Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CPT), the main business body for Portuguese tourism, held elections this week for the different governing bodies.

Therefore, the General Assembly will continue to be chaired by Grupo Pestana, SGPS, in the person of its CEO, José Theotónio and the Supervisory Board will be chaired by Vila Galé, SA, represented by its CEO Jorge Rebelo de Almeida.

The Board of Directors is chaired by the Hotel, Restaurant and Similar Association (AHRESP), represented by Francisco Calheiros, integrating the main associations in the sector, nationally, as well as many companies linked to tourism.

The Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA), responding to the invitation addressed to it, accepted, with «great pride and responsibility», from April 11th, the date of the inauguration of the new members of the governing bodies, represent the Algarve in the main private business body at national level, contributing to the resolution of the many challenges of the region’s main economic activity.

In this sense, Hélder Martins, elected president of AHETA for the three-year period 2022-2024, to join the new direction of the Portuguese Tourism Confederation.
