The Odivelas Library will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, with various activities for all audiences and ages. One of them is an exhibition dedicated to April 25th, on view at the D. Dinis Municipal Library, in Odivelas.
The D. Dinis Municipal Library, in Odivelas, will celebrate 50 years of the 25th of April. In this way, it will show the exhibition «The Revolution of April 1974 at the Press Diária de Lisboa – 1974 to 1976» and the project «Half a century of Freedom», in order to remember the history of the 25th of April. The first will be on display between April 2nd and May 18th at the Library’s headquarters. Here, it will be possible to find a set of copies of the Lisbon daily press, published between 1974 and 1976, and which were donated to the Odivelas Municipal Council (CMO).
Also dedicated to the Revolution, the Caneças center hosts the “Half a Century of Freedom” project. This aims to promote books and reading, through literary works that address the concepts of Freedom, Democracy and the history of the 25th of April itself. In total, there will be several dynamic and interactive sessions, involving all participants. Participation in these initiatives is free, but prior registration is required.
Participation is formalized via email [email protected]. One of these activities, Story Time, is dedicated to grandparents and grandchildren, aged 6 to 10, and takes place on April 2nd, at 10:30 am and 3 pm and on April 20th, at 4 pm. In May, these sessions are scheduled for the 4th, at 4:00 pm, and for the 18th, at 10:30 am.
The Creative Workshops are also for grandparents and grandchildren, aged 6 to 15. These sessions take place on the 3rd and 5th of April, at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm, and on the 2nd of May, at 4:00 pm.
