On the 26th and 27th of March 2024, a meeting with representatives of the NPRI IV project of the European Union Network IMPEL took place on the premises of the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of Alentejo, IP, which was attended by the Vice-President of CCDRA, IP Carmen Carvalheira and the person responsible for the CCDRA Inspection Unit, IP Patrícia Gomes da Silva.

Chris Dijkens (NL), Fabio Carella (IT) and Giuseppe Sgorbati (IT), representatives of the NPRI IV project, were present at the meeting as well as a delegation of organizations belonging to the IMPEL Network, from 5 European countries, which participate in the project.

CCDRA, IP decided to implement the project using IMPEL’s National Peer Review Initiative (NPRI) methodology, with the aim of continuing to improve its internal inspection processes and procedures related to legal inspection tasks, with regard to the Natura 2000 Network thus achieving a more coordinated and harmonized implementation of these tasks.

For those responsible for the Project, it is important that stakeholders linked to this topic and who have an interest in this process, such as organizations that carry out surveillance, that define policies, to which reports are presented and organizations that are subject to surveillance, are informed. and involved in the project and who can share their ideas and comments on the approach and expected results, this was the main objective of the Évora meeting that served as the start of the project.
