There were 39 competitors who formalized their registration in the Rali da Calheta, the second event of the Coral da Madeira Rally Championship to take place on the 12th and 13th of April in the municipality in the southwest of the island that names the event. The list of entries for this Club Sports da Madeira organization will be released next Monday, April 8, and will display the main candidates for first place in the absolute championship as well as the other groups and levels into which the competition promoted by the Federation is subdivided. Five Rally2 vehicles, known as R5, will be present at the rally led by Filipe Sousa, all Skoda Fabia in various versions of the Czech brand’s model. In addition to these, in Calheta there will also be a Porsche 991 GT3 and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo two-wheel drive vehicles. In this category, the debut of the Opel Corsa Rally4 also stands out.
The Calheta Rally will include ten stages. On the night of Friday, April 12th, Vila “Coral” (2.24 km) is covered twice, while on Saturday, April 13th, a double tour is carried out through Calheta (6.72 km), Maloeira (10 .77 km), Paúl do Mar (6.58 km) and Estrela da Calheta (9.55 km). The starting and podium ceremonies take place at the host city’s marina.
