The winners of the 7th edition of the Five Star Regions Awardawards that aim to evaluate and recognize the best that is done from North to South of Portugal.
They are awarded to regional icons, such as beaches, villages and towns, monuments or traditional cuisine, among others, and also to regional brands that stand out for their quality and high level of overall consumer satisfaction.
The awards evaluate the five main variables that influence consumers in their purchasing decisions: Satisfaction due to experimentation, price-quality relationship, purchase or recommendation intention, trust in the brand and innovation.
Five more specific characteristics of each candidate are also evaluated, in their consumption category.
This year the Central region – Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Guarda, Leiria, Santarém and Viseu – won a total of 71 awards.
In the case of the district of Viseu, there were eight winners, three less than in the 2023 edition, and with some ‘repeats’ such as Palácio do Gelo Shopping, ‘totalist’ in the seven editions, in addition to Vitela à Lafões, Várzea de Calde Linen Museum, Agueira Dam and Serra do Caramulo.
New this year, the awards won by Restaurante Zé Pataco, in Canas de Senhorim, the Grão Vasco Museum, in Viseu, and the company OMB.
