Fafe Health Center expansion project presented to professionals in the field

O The Fafe Health Center expansion project was presented, last Wednesday, to health professionals, in the Fafe Health Center Auditorium.

The session was attended by Pedro Cunha, President of the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Alto Ave, and the President of the Chamber of Fafe, Antero Barbosa, who explained to health professionals the process involved in the expansion project, which will imply a global investment of the order of 6.5 million euros.

“There was a lot of prior dialogue established by the municipality’s technical services, and we were able to develop a project, in stages, collaborating with the Local Health Unit”, stated the mayor, looking at the start of work to expand the Health Center in the autumn with work expected to be completed in June 2026.

The project to expand the Fafe Health Center will essentially focus on the creation of a Shared Assistance Resources Unit (URAP), as well as remodeling and increasing the response capacity of the Public Health Unit (USP), the Community Care Unit Family Health Center (UCCSF), promoting a better provision of health care to all users, under the premise that in this new Health Center there will be greater energy efficiency, management of natural light, greater optimization of existing spaces, as well as the use of more energy efficient materials.

The new Fafe Health Center will be equipped with a underground parking with capacity for 73 spaces, and 3 floors across which all Health Units will be distributed. The building will also benefit from a multipurpose space.

“This joint effort will allow the municipality of Fafe to provide a health infrastructure with greater and better capacity to respond and provide care to all those who need these health services”, concludes the municipality, in a statement.
