The Municipality of Seia and other institutions in the municipality will promote several institutional events and ceremonies to celebrate the 50th anniversary of April 25th.
The commemorative program incorporates an artistic installation in the Municipal Square, exhibitions, conversations, music and theater concerts and the usual evocative session of the Municipal Assembly of Seia.
During the month of freedom, the Municipal House of Culture hosts in its foyer the exhibition “50 years of Democracy in Local Power”, a tribute to the elected representatives of all citizens of the municipality, represented in the presidents of the Municipal Assembly of Seia, since 1974 until then.
In April, this cultural facility is also the stage for the evening “Freedom is passing by here” (16th, at 9pm), organized by the Network of School Libraries of the Municipality of Seia, and the performance “Pelo Caminho da Liberdade” (Pelo Caminho da Liberdade) (Pelo Caminho da Liberdade) (Pelo Caminho da Liberdade) (Pelo Caminho da Liberdade) (Pelo Caminho da Liberdade) (Pelo Caminho da Liberdade) 19th, at 7:30 pm), presented by the Seia Music Conservatory.
On the night of April 24th (9:30 pm), the first concert of the 3rd edition of FILARMONIAS will take place, with the Banda Torroselense Estrela D’Alva, and on April 25th the solemn session of the Municipal Assembly of Seia, evocative of the 50th anniversary of April 25th. At the end of the month, the Associação Cultural Contracanto presents the show “Era o dia de canta” at the Cineteatro.
The program is also complemented by two more moments in the parishes. On April 10th in the Noble Hall of the Cultural and Recreational Center of Vila Verde there will be “Conversas em Liberdade” and on April 25th, the Folklore Ranch “Os Pastores de São Romão” promotes an ethnofolkloric activity with the theme “Celebrate April”.
