With the aim of driving significant and concrete changes towards a sustainable energy future, a group of companies and entities from the energy and financial sector came together in an “Action Tank” to encourage the Energy Transition of individuals, through innovative solutions.

This initiative is led by BNP Paribas Personal Finance, known in Portugal by the commercial brand Cetelem, which aligns the project with its commitments to promoting sustainable consumption.

“As a company we want to play an active role in society. For 30 years in Portugal we have supported the needs of consumers and we want to continue carrying out our mission, for this we have to contribute to a sustainable future. It was precisely in this sense that we took the initiative to organize this action to support the Portuguese in the energy transition”, says Jean-Christophe Coquillaud, Chief Executive Officer of Cetelem – BNP Paribas Personal Finance in Portugal.

The launch of the project took place in February at Cetelem’s headquarters, and was facilitated by the consultancy Sair da Casca, committed to the ecological transition, and with extensive experience in organizing collaborative forums. This was the first journey of several stages that will take place throughout the first half of the year.

Among the key partners of the “Action Tank” are reference entities, such as ADENE – Energy Agency, ANFAJE, APFAC, ANICA and Saint-Gobain – whose commitment and active participation will be decisive for the success of the initiative.

Ambitious goals and participation of leading entities in the sector

“Action Tank’s ambition is simple: to facilitate access for Portuguese families to products and services that improve the energy performance of their homes, thus accelerating the energy transition in Portugal. To this end, the members of this group are defining and implementing concrete strategies , through pilot projects, partnerships and awareness initiatives among professionals and consumers”, highlights Nathalie Ballan, responsible for Sair da Casca.

Among the main goals of the project are to promote education and public awareness about the benefits of the energy transition and the fundamental role that each person can play; facilitate collaboration between different stakeholders, from the private sector, associations, development agencies, to maximize the impact of energy transition initiatives; and find solutions to promote accessibility for everyone to energy transition products in a simple and lasting way.
