Navy Day arrives at schools in Aveiro with an art competition: Gazeta Rural

In the year in which Aveiro is the Portuguese Capital of Culture 2024, the Portuguese Navy intends to involve the school community of the Municipality of Aveiro in the celebrations of Navy Day by organizing an inter-school competition of artistic projects aimed at students from the 1st to the 12th year of schooling on the theme “Portuguese Navy, Aveiro – a common maritime identity”.

Registration ends on May 3rd and the projects in the competition can take different formats such as photography, painting, drawing, illustration, comics, collage, sculpture, ceramics, tiles, installation, sewing, model, graphic design, fashion design , video, music, manufactured devices, among others.

The winning classes will be able to sail on the Sagres School Ship, visit the Navy Cultural Organs for free or receive Navy merchandising.

As part of the Navy Day celebrations in Aveiro, between the 15th and 19th of May, you can enjoy a set of free activities, which bring a little bit of the Navy to the people of Aveiro and to everyone who wants to join these celebrations.

Between media exhibitions, concerts, sports, sea baptisms and visits to the Sagres School Ship, you can find several innovative activities, for which we count on your presence.
